Lap Cholecystectomy

Gallbladder stone disease is not found in children, is a misconception. Symptomatic gallstone diseases are diagnosed more frequently now a days and do require proper management. Gallbladder stone may be primary or secondary due to hemolytic diseases. Management includes confirmation by ultrasonography and treatment by cholecystectomy either by open or laparoscopic method. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is preferred & well established in kids as well.

Gallbladder stone disease, that to symptomatic, is not a rarity in pediatric population. laparoscopic cholecystectomy is routine now in children. recently i did laparoscopic cholecystectomy in two years old child for Gallstones ,the youngest one operated by me .
