Omphalocele
This occurs when the abdominal contents, such as the intestines, liver, and sometimes other organs, protrude through an defect in the abdominal wall into a sac covered by a thin membrane nearly transparents sac. By the eleventh week of pregnancy the intestines and other abdominal organs go back in to the belly, if does not happen and omphalocele occurs.
omphalocele are major or minor depending on presence of liver and size more than 5 cm. The tretment is either primary repair or in major defect staged repair .
